Gold plated jewelry is when a layer of gold is attached to the surface of a base metal. At Pure Society we only use genuine gold for our plating. Given that copper is a hard metal, after it is integrated with gold, it helps preserve the shape of the jewelry.
While gold plating is durable, you should still try to avoid contact with chemicals and moisture to keep your jewelry in mint condition as copper tends to oxidize when exposed to such conditions. If your jewelry comes into contact with water, it is recommended that you dry it with a soft cloth or tissue, as moisture can damage surfaces and cause them to rust.
